After more than a half dozen applications and a full day of interviews, the City of Tontitown is proud to announce that a selection has been made for a full-time Fire Chief. Chief Ryan Krug has accepted an offer to be the permanent Fire Chief for the Tontitown Fire Department.
Chief Krug first came to the Tontitown Fire Department in January 2023 as a full time Firefighter. Chief Krug was already familiar with Tontitown due to being a volunteer with the Area Department since 2008. Chief Krug quickly became a key part of the daily operations in the fire department, assisting the former chief with tasks and duties. On August 24, 2023, after former Chief Ramsey submitted his resignation, Chief Krug proudly took on the interim chief position.
Chief Krug hit the ground running and hasn’t slowed down. He has seen the new fire station through to completion, he has worked diligently on scheduling and maintaining the new 24-hour schedule that went into effect in 2023, all while still responding to calls. Day in and day out Chief Krug has shown his dedication to the city of Tontitown.
“We are elated that he has accepted, and we are looking forward to great things to continue with him in this permanent position” – Mayor Angie Russell.
