The Tontitown Police Officers work in partnership with the communities they serve to maintain law and order, protect members of the public, property, prevent crime, reduce the fear of crime, and improve the quality of life for all citizens. They use a wide range of technology to protect individuals, identify the perpetrators of crime, and ensure successful prosecutions against those who break the law and ordinances. The work of a police officer is both challenging and diverse, employees may receive special assignments which call upon specialized abilities and knowledge acquired through experience as a uniformed officer. In addition, employees of the class may be required to assist other personnel of the police department in conducting interrogations, searches, and related duties as assigned. Assignments, general, and special instructions are received from a superior officer who reviews work methods, results through reports, personal inspection, and discussion. 

The department prides itself in excellent customer service and a low crime rate, this is due to the professionalism and training of the men and women who wear the uniform, and from the willingness of citizens to get involved and report criminal activity affecting their community. We believe that protecting the City of Tontitown and residents is a shared responsibility between community members and the Tontitown Police Department.
