There are two major utility subdivisions within the City – Water and Wastewater which are operated by the City of Tontitown.
WATER UTILITIES
The City purchases treated water from the City of Springdale. The water source is Beaver Lake, located largely in Benton County. The Tontitown Water Utility supplies water to parts of the city and to the adjacent areas; the remainder of our city currently is provided water service by Washington Water Authority.
We provide our city with quality and delivery pressure available for peak loads and emergencies. We are continually making efforts to update our infrastructure to ensure adequate water supply for our city’s continued growth and have filed a water master plan with Arkansas Natural Resources Commission, as outlined under state law, ACA 15-22-503.
WASTEWATER UTILITIES
In 2007 & 2008, the first sewer mains were completed to provide service in the heart of our business district along the Highway 412 corridor. Tontitown is a member of the Northwest Arkansas Conservation Authority, which is a regional authority that serves a large portion of Northwest Arkansas with a state of the art wastewater treatment plant and sludge treatment facility.
