The City of Tontitown web server automatically collects limited information about computer configurations when visitors are on the City of Tontitown website, including the type of browser being used, the operating system that is running, the resolution of a user’s computer monitor, the website that referred the visitor, and the visitor’s IP address. An IP address is a number that is used by computers connected to the Internet to identify each computer so that data such as the web pages viewed can be properly transmitted. The City of Tontitown uses IP address information for systems administration and trouble-shooting purposes.
